The Puppetry Guild of Northeastern Ohio (PGNO) is a chartered guild of the Puppeteers of America. We are a non-profit organization founded in 1975. Our mission is to provide puppeteers and puppet enthusiasts of Northeastern Ohio a forum for the exchange of information and encouragement of our art form. [We] take an active role in solving any problems brought to [us] by any person or group as long as these problems agree with the goals and purposes of the Guild and the Puppeteers of America, Inc.
The Puppetry Guild of Northeastern Ohio is dedicated to promoting, preserving and fostering the art of puppetry in Northeastern Ohio by supporting the work of its members, providing a forum for puppeteers and enthusiasts, and building a community of people who love puppet theater.
Regularly scheduled activities of PGNO include monthly meetings and a variety of annual events.
Monthly meetings are now scheduled on an as-needed basis and feature workshops or performances in addition to the normal order of business.
Our annual banquet, formerly titled "Thank Goodness Christmas is Over", has been moved to the spring to avoid Cleveland's inclement winter weather.
The second weekend in November we travel west to the Puppet Potlatch (in reality an informal Puppeteers of America, Great Lakes regional event) held at the Potawatomi Inn in the Pokegon State Park near Angola, Indiana.
